The Business Development Corporation (BDC) of the Northern Panhandle has submitted a loan application to the City of Weirton for the use of the City’s USEPA Brownfields Program Revolving Loan Fund (RLF). The BDC has requested funding from the RLF to perform an environmental cleanup project at the Former Wheeling Corrugating Facility (now Beech Bottom Industrial Park) in Beech Bottom.

The project site is located at 8963 River Road, Wellsburg, WV 26070 and was previously used to manufacture steel products under predecessor companies. The site currently houses multiple industrial tenants. The project involves the disposal of treatment chemicals in a former waste water plant located on the site.

This publication is to notify the public of the 30-day comment period regarding the environmental cleanup project occurring at the site listed above. Interested individuals may review the project documents on the BDC’s website . Files are also available for review during regular business hours at the Beech Bottom Village Office located at 11 3^rd Street, Beech Bottom, WV 26030.

Given the current public health situation, a public informational meeting will be held VIRTUALLY on March 31, 2021 beginning at 12:00 noon and ending when all attendees have had an opportunity to comment.
