Wine and Dine at Williams enjoyed

WEIRTON – It was an evening of food, friendship and festivities at Williams Country Club Saturday, as close to 200 area residents gathered for the annual Wine and Dine at Williams. In its fifth year, the event is hosted by the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce and the Business Development Corp. of the Northern Panhandle. Proceeds benefit the chamber's educational programs – such as Youth Leadership Weirton and the High School Business Symposium – and efforts to maintain and upgrade the community Christmas lights. Chamber President Brenda Mull welcomed those in attendance Saturday, thanking them for their continued support. “It's an event that is so special to us,” Mull said. Sponsors for the Wine and Dine included Weirton Medical Center, gold sponsor; Wine and Beverage Merchants of West Virginia, beverage sponsor; PS Marketing, wine glass sponsor; WesBanco Banking, Insurance and Trust, food sponsor; Grae-Con Construction, ticket sponsor; Fairfield Inn & Suites, carriage ride sponsor and Paper & Press Ink, program sponsor. Pat Ford, executive director of the BDC, also expressed his appreciation to the sponsors and supporters. Article Photos
“It gives us an opportunity to not only showcase the best of the Northern Panhandle, but also presents a great opportunity for a lot of our stakeholders and business leaders to come out and show their support for a cause that continues to move our community forward,” Ford said. Throughout the evening, guests were able to sample a variety of wines and beers, with food prepared by the staff of Williams Country Club. The “Man Cave” returned to provide a selection of harder alcoholic beverages and cigars, and guests also had the opportunity to take a carriage ride along Williams Drive.
