REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
WEIRTON REUSE PLAN
The Business Development Corporation of the Northern Panhandle (BDC), in cooperation with the Frontier Group of Companies, the City of Weirton, and the U.S. Economic Development Administration, is requesting proposals from multi-disciplined consulting firms and/or consulting teams to create a reuse plan for the former surplus land of ArcelorMittal owned by Frontier Group of Companies. Funding for this project is made possible by an investment from the United States Economic Development Administration and the City of Weirton. The expected economic impact of the plan and projects is economic development and employment creation. During and upon completion of this reuse plan, the BDC and its partners will actively apply the action plan to seek real, market-driven investments to repurpose, redevelop, upgrade infrastructure, and attract new investment to 1,300 acres of former steel manufacturing facilities and underutilized industrial land.
Interested firms must submit three (3) copies of a Proposal for Professional Services to Patrick B. Ford, Executive Director, Business Development Corporation (BDC) of the Northern Panhandle, 324A Penco Road, Weirton, WV 26062. Phone number for the BDC is 304-748-5041. Submittals may be made by mail or in person and must be delivered by 4:00 on February 23, 2018. All responses must be clearly marked “Proposal for Professional Services” on the outside of the envelope.
Any individual or firm interested in submitting a Proposal for Professional Services MAY attend a pre-submittal meeting to assure a more complete understanding of the project. The pre-submittal meeting will be held on January 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Business Development Corporation (BDC) of the Northern Panhandle located at 324A Penco Road, Weirton, WV 26062.
