Pietro Fiorentini getting closer to making a home in Weirton Updated: Tuesday, September 30 2014, 06:29 PM EDT WTOV9.com WEIRTON, W.Va. — It's a multi-million dollar investment that’s one step closer to reality. Pietro Fiorentini, an international oil and gas company, will soon building a new home in the mountain state. The company has been planning to build its first U.S. manufacturing facility on land at Three Springs Business Park in Weirton for some time. Pietro Fiorentini  has been temporarily housed in Wheeling. Executive Director of the Business Development Corporation Pat Ford said two major actions were recently taken. “The West Virginia EDA approved a financing of $1 million in equipment purchases for Fiorentini to buy new equipment for their temporary facility in Wheeling that will eventually relocate to their new facility in Weirton,” he said. And  … “Fiorentini purchased an option agreement to acquire the 17 acres in the Three Springs Business Park.” It’s a $9 million investment for a 50,000 square-foot building that will bring in 41 jobs during the initial phase and up to 150 when fully operational. This will be Pietro Fiorentini’s first manufacturing facility in the United States. “They are based in Italy and they saw the demand here locally to actually build their product here and sell it,” Ford said. Pietro Fiorentini is an international oil and gas company that develops technologically advanced products and services for natural gas use and distribution. “To have a company like that to choose the U.S. and also West Virginia, to have their first presence in the United States, it says a lot of great things about who we are in West Virginia,” Ford said.
