More foreign investment coming to W.Va.’s northern panhandle?
WEIRTON, W.Va. — Local economic experts say there could be even more foreign investment coming to the state of West Virginia on top of the nearly $84 billion announced last week.
A lot of it could be seen in the northern panhandle. After all, when you have land, you have opportunities.
In the northern panhandle alone there are thousands of acres of vacant properties either already on the market, or in the process of becoming market ready. With China Energy announcing last week its intent to invest billions in West Virginia, Pat Ford of the Business Development Corporation of the Northern Panhandle believes it has only sweetened the pot for other investors.
